Sadly this is coming much later than it should have. Let's hope they keep push and that maybe something is done for those who's public trust the violated. We need new leadership who is willing to looking into not only what U of I did but also who has and is profiting from Shield testing.

The heat is on, and you are on fire! I wasn't familiar with Senator Rose, but I like how he speaks plainly. Can't wait to learn how this meeting goes. And so happy Rep Mazzochi will be involved.

Bless up 🙏 it's late, but I'm almost in tears finding that there are still some people, if seemingly few, showing up with an apparent righteousness and moral compass that show to care. All of these scammers and opportunists NEED to be held accountable. There needs to be an example of "treat your people like this and you no longer get to govern" moment.

It's good to see a legislator get upset about something covid-wise that a state university's doing on its own, without a specific law to authorize the program.

I wish the good senator asked about this:

FOIA request: an email from Sam Ho, a lab director, to Greta Andrew, Senior Director, SHIELD Illinois:

"At 50% or less PPV, it means that the chance of predicting the positive results to be accurate is worse than flipping a coin" ... " it causes less harm to unnecessarily quarantine people for only 2 weeks when they do not in fact have COVID".

And from one of Illinois school district websites:

In a recent clinical trial, SHIELD’s sensitivity rate was 96.8% and specificity

rate was 98.9%. This level of accuracy means that staff or students who test

positive don't need to seek a second test result to confirm the result.

This is what SHIELD was telling IDPH and school districts.

As for the senator... that outrage comes a little bit too late.
